Golden Goose Deluxe Brand is something I’ve always admired. They were launched back in 2000 after the collaboration between Francesca Rinaldo and Alessandro Gallo in Italy. Over the years, they have become a worldwide designer brand with flagship stores in multiple countries, and it’s one that style enthusiasts really love.
I’ve known about Golden Goose for years and I would often check out the collection on FarFetch, as they always had an amazing selection, but I never ended up getting any because I always felt the price was too high and seemed too close in style to Converse, so they were always saved for later. Some time back, Adam was the one who was the early fan and he actually got his first pair of their Superstar sneakers last year, which was what inspired me to look into them more. Having seen his in person and seeing how each pair of their shoes is completely unique because they’re artisanal, I was more intrigued. As the Golden Goose Superstar sneakers are pre-distressed and made to appear vintage, they are all hand done so each one is different. Some have heavier wear than others, so the variation is wide.
If you’re buying at a store, it might be a good idea to ask to see a few of the same shoe and pick from them, but if you’re ordering online, you have to hope you get a good pair!The pair of sneakers that I originally fell in love with first are the ones above in the main image, as they’ve been on the market forever, but I never ended up purchasing them.
I actually ended up getting the metallic version off Shopbop, and they’re a pair I have worn on and off over the years (see here and my Golden Goose review here). I absolutely love them! I bought another pair in the same model and customized them ballstar sneakers with new laces + colored accents, so they’re really fresh! I also own a pair of velvet burgundy Golden Goose, and two pairs of high-cut styles! I do definitely want a solid black set, but I have a pair of Converse in black canvas, so I’m not sure I should repeat the color, even though they’re different.
